Happy Black Friday or Thanksgiving!

What will you be doing on Black Friday?  Are you already in line at Best Buy?  Because if you're not, you're already too late.  (I've seen them out there already!)  Clayvision will be running free shipping on all orders over $5.00.  (I know, why $5.00?  It eliminates the one charm orders that take up the same amount of time as 10 charm orders.)  We have our premade 5 charm bracelets and oval key chains on special.  (http://www.clayvision.com/specials.htm)  Order at your leisure this weekend.

Looks like we will be having our usual Thanksgiving spread. (Turkey with stuffing and rice stuffing... Mmm!) Cam (and his allergies) will be able to enjoy the turkey, although he is usually too busy playing with the cousins to stop and eat.

We wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving weekend!

November 8th - No Shows & Angry Star Wars?

We have a short break this weekend with no shows.  (that ends a run of 9 straight weekends of shows)  Just a reminder that we have only 5 shows left.  4 in SoCal (Koi, Beary, Krafty, and A Time for Sharing) and 1 in Seattle.  We have almost all of our old ornaments on sale, along with some of our older products.  We have new mirrors ($4.50 ea), new mini notepad gift packs ($6.50 ea), and new 4 x 6 frames ($8.50 ea)  If you need something in particular or have any questions, please feel free to send us an email, clayvision@yahoo.com.

Tomorrow, (or today) is the release day of Star Wars Angry Birds.  The only reason I know this is because all the kids (and 40 year old male nerds, like myself) seem to have this day circled on their calendars.   I hope you pre-bought all the toys that are coming out, because they are surely going to run out by Christmas.  (you know that those toy nerds, like myself, are going to buy it all and put it away)  My son has forgotten about Angry Birds and suddenly gotten into Legos (like myself).  So, instead of me having to buy him a $2.00 app, I have to buy him a $50 Lego set for his birthday... but that's better for him, right?

Surprise! A Blog Update

Well, it's been a busy couple of months with all the travel shows.  Only one out of town show left next weekend in Saratoga/San Jose, Crafty Foxes.  This weekend we have the SE Japanese School Holiday Boutique in Norwalk which features a pancake/portuguese sausage breakfast.  Looking forward to that, but not looking forward to the 8am start of the craft show.  (We have to leave home at 5:30am?  With Cameron?)

At the shows, we will bringing our new frames ($8.50), new mirrors (only $4.50!), new iphone/android/smart phone charms ($5.00), and a van load of sale merchandise.  We've marked down a lot of our old inventory trying to make room in our house.  Most ornaments are 50% off, along with many giftpacks.  (So please, come to the shows and buy it all so I don't have to load it all back into the van.)

No Shows This Month?

We don't have any shows this month?  Really?  I guess it's a little break before the crazy Winter season.  We will be gearing up for our first show on September 8th. (Midori Kai)  Look for new frames (4 x 6), new mirrors (similar to those we had 7 years ago, but with new colors and designs), and a lot of sale ornaments.  On the website, we will have free regular shipping for the month of August.

The start of the Winter season always signals that the Disneyland 1/2 Marathon is approaching.  We've started our training for that run on Labor Day weekend.  (Not so easy now that we have Cameron)  If Disney didn't give us extra stuff for being legacy runners, we would've quit by now.  (Although, a lanyard isn't exactly something to show off.)

Cars Land & the West Covina Obon

So, we visited Disney's California's Adventure and got to see the new Cars Land.  It is pretty awesome as you get to walk down (an extremely crowded) Radiator Springs.  (It really feels like you're in the movie)  I think the wait to ride the main ride was 4-5 hours, so we passed.  We did take Cameron on Tow Mater's Junkyard Jamboree and he loved it!  (We loved the new Ghiradelli's Ice Cream Shop by the Wharf area!)  Cam hit the magic height of 40 inches, so he can now ride almost anything at Disneyland.  (his head barely scrapes the bottom of the measuring stick.)  He got to ride Soarin' and really enjoyed it.

This Saturday is the West Covina Obon.  (1pm-6pm)  They feature good food, good produce, good performances, and dancing when the sun goes down.  Unfortunately, Clayvision won't be there this year.  (No, we're not going to be at Disneyland...)

JAO Luau this Saturday

We have two upcoming shows in the next 2 weeks.  First is the JAO Luau, this Saturday, June 2nd at the Nishi Hongwanji Temple in Downtown LA.  (You do need a ticket to attend)  Then, next Sunday, June 10th, is the Sansei League Picnic at North High in Torrance.  (No ticket needed here)  We will hopefully have our new mirrors at the shows, but no guarantees...

Cam Update:  He's getting bigger, almost 39 inches.  (40 inches is the magic number for many Disneyland rides!)  Another visit to the ER last week, but luckily no hospital stay.  It seems like when he gets sick, he really gets sick.  He's fine now and is full of energy, talking 24 hours a day, non-stop...

Happy May the 4th (be with you)

Happy Star Wars day to all you jedis and stormtroopers out there.  (Yes, Cam loves Star Wars even though he's never seen the movie!)  Just a reminder that we have our final Spring Show this Sunday at the Gardena Elks Lodge from 10am to 3pm.  A small show, but it is great for those who like to take their time and browse.  Don't forget that Mother's day is coming next weekend.

How about my Los Angeles Angels?  The same problems as last year.  (even with Pujols) No one hits with runners on base and the bullpen gives away leads every game.  (They can't even get 3 outs without giving up runs)  We went to the game last Tuesday and picked up our cool Rally Monkey Beanies and, surprisingly, they won!  It's going to be a long summer!

Sophi's, Nikkei Matsuri, & the ER

We will be at So-Phi's Fashion Show tomorrow.  (Hopefully in our normal spot)  We'll have some new small frames, Swarovski Crystals Bracelets, Journals, and Notepads.  At the end of the month, we won't be able to attend Nikkei Matsuri in San Jose this year.  (I think that breaks our run of 11 straight years)

For Spring Break, we took a trip up to San Jose for fun.  (I kept feeling like we had a show the next day...)  Took Cameron to see the Redwoods, Golden Gate Bridge, Lombard Street, Discovery Museum, and a bunch of Targets.  (Hey, the Cars 2 die cast cars were only 99 cents that week)  Came back and Cam was sick.  Ended up taking him to the ER, which led to 5 days in the hospital.  He's better now and will, hopefully, be off meds next week and back to his old self!

Show Season Already?

Happy St. Patrick's Day weekend to you.  We will have our first show of the Spring season on St. Patrick's Day at the Nishi Hongwanji Temple in Downtown LA this Saturday.  It is the Nisei Week Luau from 5:30pm to 9pm.  Let's hope it doesn't rain on us (or at least not too hard on us!)  You do need a dinner ticket to attend.  (and eat the excellent Hawaiian food by Our Daily Bread)

Did anyone call in sick today?  If so, they're probably home watching all the NCAA Basketball action.  (I could never get away with it.)  American Idol elimination tonight also.

Happy New Year!

Happy 2012!  It will be the Year of the Dragon!  Hope everyone had a great holiday season and hope that you got what you wanted for Christmas!  (Like a Clayvision ornament?)   Our first show of the year won't be until March.

Cam got everything he wanted and more.  His best present was probably getting rid of the Christmas tree.  (I think he was allergic to it.)  I guess we'll be shopping for a fake tree for next year...
